Louvre Names Architects for $1B Expansion
Selldorf Architects and Studios Architecture Paris have been selected to lead the Louvre's $1 billion expansion project. The overhaul will include a new dedicated gallery for the Mona Lisa.
The two-firm partnership brings together Annabelle Selldorf's New York-based practice with the Paris-based Studios Architecture team to redesign significant portions of the world's most-visited museum. The expansion addresses long-standing space constraints and visitor circulation challenges at the institution.
