Akanksya Dahal wins Photo London Student Award
Akanksya Dahal of Ravensbourne University London received the 2026 Photo London Student Award, selected from four nominees by a panel including Guardian photography head Fiona Shields and V&A curator Lisa Springer. The award recognizes emerging photographic talent across UK art schools.
The Photo London 2026 Student Award was judged by a distinguished panel including Fiona Shields of the Guardian, V&A photography curator Lisa Springer, photographer Mimi Mollica, and Kimberly Hoang, picture editor at the British Red Cross. The shortlist comprised four emerging photographers nominated by tutors from UK universities including Birmingham City University, London College of Communication, and Falmouth University. The annual award celebrates exceptional student work in contemporary photography shown at Photo London's Olympia venue.
